By Reverend Russel in Hawksville -
On the 7th of March, Anthony Baffie(?) with Mary Jane Uttley, living in Elmira.
- Mary Jane was married just a month and a half before her older brother John Robert married Catherine Birmingham in Elmira.
- Sarah Cook, the witness, was Mary Jane's older sister Sarah Ann Uttley. Sarah Ann and her husband Robert Cook acted as witnesses at the John R's wedding.
- Why were they married in Hawkesville? Nathan was living with the Birmingham in-laws outside Crosshill in 1881 and Hawkesville is not far away. In 1881 Mary Jane was living in Elmira at the home of Peter and Anna Bowman and their three young kids as a servant.
